200 -Harley-Davidson Road King Classic Reviews

If there is one Harley-Davidson motorcycle that would personify the classic styling, large displacement, and the true spirit of the American heavy cruiser, it would be the Road King Classic.

The bike shares much in common with others in the touring line and with the Road King in particular. Of particular note are the full size, classic fenders, the full-length floorboards for both riders, oversized, 6-gallon gas tank, and classic two-up seat. For 2009 the Road King Classic retains its 16-inch front and rear laced steel wheels and wide-whitewall tires. Tooled leather covers the seat trim and the leather-covered saddlebags. Touring features auxiliary passing lights and, unlike other members of the touring lineup, standard cruise control. Two-tone fender graphics are new for this year as is a new license plate bracket which fixes the tag directly over the tail lamp.

The Road King Classic is one of the largest motorcycles in the entire Harley-Davidson lineup and this power cruiser is propelled by the H-D 96 cubic-inch Twin Cam V-Twin engine coupled to a 6-speed transmission. New for 2009 is an isolated drive system, redesigned frame, and front and rear suspension. The new backbone is made to provide a sturdier ride, increase carrying capacity, and improve long-haul comfort. Early reports indicate that it does very well at this across all Touring models.

Notable exterior features on the ’09 Road King Classic include classic whitewall tires, Lexan removable windshield, 2-1-2 exhaust system, and leather wrapped hard saddlebags. All of these details together with the new frame and beefy V-Twin engine mean that this is one bike that you can be proud of.
