I looked at the Yamaha Roadliner, Roadstar and the 2009 Road King Classic. The Yamahas are fine machines, especially for a metric. What ultimately sold me on the Road King was the fact that the fit and finish, quality of workmanship on the Harley was better than the Yamaha and the materials used on the Harley was real steal and not aluminum. Once on the Road King, the torque and the solid feel gave me confidence that was lacking on the Yamahas. With the windshield off, it turns into a classic cruiser. The the winshield and passenger backrest back on and going two up, it is the finest touring machine on the market. If that weren't enough, while the Yamaha resell value continues to go down year after year, the Road King still holds its value. When you keep hearing "it's just like a Harley" over and over again, eventually you just get a Harley.
